CREATING YOUR VERY OWN TREASURED PHOTO HEIRLOOM
You
can use any photo you'd like (provided you own the rights to reproduce that
photo) - but remember that the better the photo, the
better the finished PictureWeave product. We have a few suggestions, listed
below:
- SIZE:
Any photo will work. We prefer photos larger than 5x7. For digital
photographs, please make sure that they were taken by a 1 megapixel or
better camera. (Again, the better the resolution, the better the image)
- CONTRAST:
A high contrast photo works the best. A black dog on a black couch in a
dark room will not yield the best results. Conversely, a white dog in
the snow will not work well, either. If your main subject is brightly
lit and the background is somewhat dark, the results will be brilliant!
Please avoid dark shadows on the face or subject.
- FOCUS:
Make sure your subject is sharp. The better the focus, the better the
final piece will be.
- COLOR:
We can use black and white or color.
- COMPOSITION:
Keep it simple. Make sure that your subject occupies 60-80% of the
photo. This is not an absolute necessity, but it will make for a better
finished piece.
- Creative
cropping of your photo will result in a better composition, and
ultimately, a better finished piece. If you would like us to crop your
photo to best show the subject matter, please indicate so when you send
in the photo.
Once your online order has been completed, you will be provided with a
Certificate Code and instructions, which you can use with the Mail Order
Form, or the Online Order Form. If you're going to send in the paper
order form, fill it out in it's entirety. Please be
sure to sign the waiver certifying that you own the exclusive rights to your
photograph.
If you're going to send in the paper order form, fill it out
in it's entirety and place it with your photo or disk in the provided
envelope. Please be sure to leave the cardboard in the envelope in order to
help the contents remain safe during transit. Please be sure to sign

If you're going to use this website to complete your order,
fill out the online form (provided after the purchase has been completed),
making sure to include the certificate number provided following the
purchase. Using this system, you can upload your photo directly, crop and
rotate it and make sure that the dimensions are correct.
In about 4 - 6 weeks, you'll be receiving your new, 100% cotton heirloom. If
you do not receive your PictureWeave product after 6 weeks, please contact
us, and we'll track your shipment.
All
PictureWeave products are 100% cotton, and highly durable. The colors won't
fade like printed materials, but we do suggest that you machine wash on
gentle or hand wash, and tumble dry on low. You can expect a lifetime of
beauty and vibrant colors from your PictureWeave heirloom.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Below,
we've listed a number of our most frequently asked questions. Also, you'll
find helpful hints to make your PortraitWeavers product the best it can be.
Q: How many people/pets/buildings can I have in my photo?
A: You can have as many as you'd like, but remember that the
smaller the detail, the less likely it is to show up in a woven piece. A
blanket with a couple of large faces will yield higher detail in those
faces compared to a photo with 10 people in it.
Q: How long will it take?
A: 4-6 weeks. Often, much faster. A lot of that depends on the
time of year and the number of orders we have.
Q: Are these products printed?
A: No! These products are jacquard woven, 100% cotton. Never
printed.
Q: Will the images and colors fade?
A: No! The images are woven of 100% cotton, so they will never
fade - even after repeated washings (please follow washing instructions).
Q: Are these products washable?
A: Absolutely. Our products are machine washable. We recommend
cold water and tumble drying on the lowest setting.

This unique product may require creative photo cropping and
composition. The photo may be enlarged or reduced so as to create the most
beautiful rendition in either a vertical or horizontal format.
We
recommend washing product by hand washing in cool water using a mild detergent
or machine wash on gentle cycle separately. Dry on cool cycle. 100% cotton.
Black
and white photos will be woven as black and white, and color photos will be
woven in color.
We
will return your photos and pictures unharmed.
The
submission of any photos or any other documents constitutes an agreement by
you that if such photo or document is damaged, lost or mishandled by our
company, agents or employees, even though due to negligence or of any of the
foregoing, to replacement of a 24 exposure roll of film. While we will use all
due diligence to ensure the safety of your photograph and will make all
attempts to return your photo with your blanket, we suggest that you send
copies of any photo that is irreplaceable or highly valuable.

No Copyrighted Photographs
Copyrighted photos will not be accepted without written permission
from the photographer. A copyrighted picture will usually be identified as
follows: 1)the words “Copyrighted photo - do not copy” imprinted on the
back of the photo, 2) a copyrighted logo or 3) a professionally published
photo or artwork e.g. magazine photo. In general, any picture taken by someone
other than yourself could be protected by copyright. Please use a different photo if you are
in doubt as to whether your submission is copyright protected.

Digital Photos
Digital photos are also acceptable.
Low resolution images will not reproduce well, please make sure that the image
you email is at least 150 dpi resolution. IMPORTANT: Please include your kit
serial number, located on the order form and certificate in the subject line
of your email. Emails that contain no reference to the kit serial number will
be returned to sender.
