Tips
for Hanging Wall Decor Buying
wall décor is easy. People choose what they want according to their
personal preference and style, and with a nail and hammer in hand, they
find a location to hang their new piece. It sounds simple, right?
Unfortunately many beautiful pieces lose their impact because of improper
placement when hanging.
Instead of adding drama and style to a room,
improperly placed décor ends up looking less than impressive.
With a
little wall hanging know-how, anyone can properly hang décor and attain
the look they want to achieve.

Easy and Inexpensive Ways to Update Living Room Furniture
Living room furniture is a big investment, and it is not practical or feasible for most people to buy new furniture just because they are tired of looking at the same pieces day after day. However, it is quite easy and inexpensive to update living room furniture without spending a small fortune in the process.
With a few easy tips, tricks, and inexpensive additions, your old living room furniture can look completely different.
You can give the entire living room a completely new look with the following simple changes.

|
| What you see is only part of what you
get with a Tapestry Wall Hanging.
The
items you add to a room to create a visual impact are only part of the
equation for creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Sounds, smells and tactile impressions also
help create a room's overall decor.
Music, lighting, fragrance and textures all
play a part in your home decor. For example, the textures
available in a tapestry
wall hanging can provide both a colorful or decorative splash, plus
the texture that only a woven work of art can provide. Add to that the
sound quality that a fabric wall hanging can provide, which is unlike
anything any other kind of wall decor can provide.

After all, your home is to be lived in, not
displayed in a photograph.

| Arrange Bookshelves using the Zig Zag formula
A
style tip by interior stylist Joetta Moulden
Styling bookcases in countless rooms has
taught me this simple formula: alternate a vertical stack of books on an
upper shelf with either a chunky box, a standing porcelain or tole plate,
or a stack of horizontal books just beneath it. That way, you can create
both balance and visual interest at once.

| Simple Staging Tips to Help Your Home Sell
Selling your home can be a
challenging time. Two major factors play into the drama of home
sales... speed and price. How quickly
your home sells and how much the "best offer" comes in at have a
lot to do with how your home shows itself.
One of the most difficult part
for homeowners is to take an objective look at the house and understand
that, while it is your home... with all it's well-loved eccentricities...
it will soon be someone else's home.

| Make sure the art
you pick tells a story you want to hear
Most
art critics will agree that Art tells a story. It can either be a
story of comfort, discontent, unrest or beauty. Some people truly
enjoy stories of struggle and hardship, others enjoy stories of quiet
serenity.
Take, for example, the story told in a
Degas painting, such as "The Ballet Rehearsal" by Brushstrokes
Fine Art:
The "pain" of
attaining beauty is clearly documented for all to see.
Compare that against Flowers
of Life by Alicia Quaini, dedicated to those whose struggles have helped
bring peace to others.
And finally, van Gogh's Cafe Arles, which
shows - in vibrant colors and swift motion, how thrilling life can be.
Each painting tells a
different story, in a different way. Even if the colors
match your walls, it's critical that the piece of Art you chose tells the
kind of story you won't mind hearing over and over again... after all,
you're going to see that painting again and again.

As an interior designer, I'm often asked by my clients if it's a good

be very uninteresting.
